Native American Dance at Library

Posted
The public is invited to Warsaw Community Public Library to see Native American dancer David Morningstar Aug. 27 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Register by calling 574-267-6011 or online at www.warsawlibrary.org

Morningstar started dancing when he was 14 years old. He was in the Boy Scouts of America, then joined the Sea Scouts of America. After Morningstar left the Sea Scouts, he went into full-time Indian dancing. His chief was a full-blooded Miami Indian.

The chief was a descendant of Chief Little Turtle and they traveled Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. They were called the Miami Indian Dancers.

Morningstar also will share information about the lives and required tools that went into the everyday life of a Miami Indian.
