Nathan Max FaulknerBOURBON – Nathan Max Faulkner, 66, of Bourbon, passed away suddenly Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022.

He was born Jan. 11, 1956, in Plymouth, to Max and Phyllis Neidig Faulkner. He graduated from Triton High School in Bourbon in 1974, and then spent a year studying at Purdue University. He attended Jackson College of Ministries in Mississippi, graduating in 1978, majoring in theology and music. Back in Bourbon, he worked for RR Donnelley/LSC Communications for 30 years, retiring in 2020. Nathan did a nine-month stint in Germany with his sister in church work. For several years he took time off from employment and went to Belize to be involved in missions work there.

He attended the Bourbon United Pentecostal Church and was actively involved in the music department, praise team, a teacher with an innate ability to connect with children who adored their “Uncle Nathan,” made peanut brittle and many behind the scenes repairs and support, along with prayer and giving. He also enjoyed studying the scriptures and memorized many portions of the Bible.

Nathan was a pilot, flight instructor, Experimental Aircraft Association member, paint scheme designer and airplane builder. He was an avid bike rider, clocking over 65,000 miles, traveled to national forests and camped out often.

Nathan is preceded in death by his father, Max; and his mother, Phyllis; an infant sister, Lynn Maxine; and a niece, Carissa (Faulkner) Bruner. He is survived by his siblings: Teresa (Mokhles) Sedra, of Egypt; Eric (Pam) Faulkner, of Indianapolis; Seth (Kathi) Faulkner, of Bourbon; Kirby (Keri) Faulkner, of Newburgh; Chris Faulkner, of Atwood; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bourbon United Pentecostal Church, 201 N. Bourbon St., Bourbon, on Wednesday, Oct. 26 with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27. Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. with the service starting at 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in Nathan’s honor to the Bourbon United Pentecostal Church for their work in Egypt and Estonia.
