NAPPANEE – The City of Nappanee issued a citywide boil order this morning following a malfunction at its water treatment facility. The facility experienced a malfunction at 7:30 a.m. today, according to a notice from the city. Water Utility Department personnel are investigating the cause and water pressure is being restored. Utility customers are asked to boil all water used for human consumption until the Water Utility gives notice that the boil order is lifted. Water levels in the Utility’s elevated storage tanks are being restored at this time and fire protection has not been compromised, according to the notice.
