Posted

NAPPANEE - On Jan. 10 a 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old male were arrested by the Nappanee Police Department for dangerous possession of a firearm after an investigation involving juveniles possessing and distributing firearms. The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force and the Nappanee Police Department conducted the investigation.

The NPD was notified by a concerned citizen that several juveniles were in possession of semi-automatic handguns and that they were trying to sell the weapons. With help from the drug task force, the juveniles attempting to sell the handguns were contacted. An undercover officer purchased a semi-automatic handgun from the two teens who were then arrested.

The juveniles are being held at the Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center. Additional arrests are possible as the investigation continues.
