ORDINANCE NO. 1461 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1443 AND ESTABLISHING RATES AND CHARGES AS REGARDS THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE WHEREAS, heretofore the Common Council of the City of Nappanee, Indiana passed and ordained Ordinance No. 580 creating and establishing the Nappanee Emergency Medical Service Department of the City and the Emergency Medical Service Fund as a part of the General Fund of said City, and WHEREAS, it has been determined that it shall be necessary to establish rates and charges for services performed by this Department. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NAPPANEE, INDIANA: SECTION 1. That the following rates and charges be established for services rendered to each emergency patient to or for whom emergency service is provided as follows: Basic Life Support Charges Per Person: Resident Rate $400.00 Non-Resident Rate $500.00 Advanced Life Support-1 Resident Rate $600.00 Non-Resident Rate $700.00 Advance Life Support-2 Resident Rate $750.00 Non-Resident Rate $850.00 Per loaded mile $12.00 SECTION 3. That if the Nappanee Emergency Medical Service is called upon by a neighboring entity to respond for medical assistance in the form of a paramedic intercept, and If the neighboring entity and the Nappanee Emergency Medical Service have entered into a written agreement for such services, and If the neighboring entity provides the transportation vehicle for such medical assistance response to the hospital, with the Nappanee Emergency Medical Service personnel aboard that vehicle, Then, the neighboring entity shall pay a fee to the Nappanee Emergency Medical Service of Two Hundred Dollars and 00/100 ($200.00) per paramedic intercept.
