LEGAL NOTICE DIRECTED TO NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS IN CITY OF NAPPANEE, INDIANA PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City of Nappanee Redevelopment Commission adopted the following Resolution on January 25, 2011 concerning the requirement that neighborhood associations register with the Redevelopment Commission pursuant to Indiana Code § 36-7-14-17.5, to wit: RESOLUTION NO. 2011-02 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF NAPPANEE REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION REQUIRING REGISTRATION OF NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS WHEREAS Indiana Code § 36-7-14-17.5 provides that a redevelopment commission may require that neighborhood associations register with a redevelopment commission; WHEREAS Indiana Code § 36-7-14-17.5 provides that a redevelopment commission may adopt a rule that requires that a neighborhood association encompass a part of the geographic area included in or proposed to be included in a redevelopment project area, urban renewal area, or economic development area to qualify as an affected neighborhood association; WHEREAS the City of Nappanee Redevelopment Commission considers it reasonable and appropriate to require that neighborhood associations register and to adopt such a rule regarding what qualifies as an affected neighborhood association; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ESTABLISHED AND RESOLVED by the City of Nappanee Redevelopment Commission as follows: 1. That pursuant to Indiana Code § 36-7-14-17.5, neighborhood associations must register with the City of Nappanee Redevelopment Commission by filing a statement containing the name and mailing address of the neighborhood association along with a description of the boundaries of the neighborhood association and a map depicting the same. 2. That for a neighborhood association to qualify as an affected neighborhood association, the neighborhood association must encompass a part of the geographic area included in or proposed to be included in a redevelopment project area, urban renewal area, or economic development area.
