Nappanee Man Faces Meth Charges

Posted
A Nappanee man was arrested Monday afternoon after he  reportedly bought a load of pseudoephedrine at a local store and led police to meth in his parked vehicle.
Christopher John Yoder, 36, of 141 Metzler St., Nappanee, faces a preliminary charge of felony possession of methamphetamine, the result of a Kosciusko County Drug Task Force finding around 5:30 p.m. Monday.
According to a release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, task force officers working undercover found a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of an unnamed large Warsaw business. Officers found the owner of the vehicle - Yoder - after he allegedly bought the maximum amount of pseudoephedrine from the store, the release said.
State law regulates that consumers can buy up to 3.6 grams of pseudoephedrine a week, or 9 grams within 30 days.
After learning Yoder allegedly pushed that limit, officers moved in.
After speaking with Yoder shortly in the store’s parking lot,  officers found an undisclosed amount of finished meth inside the man’s vehicle, according to the release.
Yoder was booked at 6:30 p.m. into Kosciusko County Jail. He is being held in lieu of a $2,000 bond.
