THE CITY OF NAPPANEE An Equal Opportunity Employer JOB ANNOUNCEMENT JOB TITLE: Probationary Police Officer QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of secondary education or equivalent; must be at least 21 years of age; must possess a valid Indiana vehicle operators' license; must be able to pass required background check and obtain Indiana Law Enforcement Certification within 1 year of employment DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION: Perform law enforcement functions; receive and respond to calls for assistance; issues warnings and citations; apprehends and arrests suspected law violators; operates and utilizes law enforcement equipment and weapons. Performs and attends training functions; studies for and obtains required certifications. Performs civil and criminal process duties; testifies in court; communicates with attorneys, witnesses, investigators, victims. Prepares and maintains records. Performs other duties as directed.
