NAPPANEE - IDEM - DRINKING WATER

Posted
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) Drinking Water Branch is requesting that our Nappanee Water Utility update their Lead and Copper sampling sites. This is a statewide initiative by IDEM. The goal of the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) is to target sample locations with high-risk lead and copper in drinking water. Selection of the highest risk sites is vital, because it helps ensure appropriate action is taken if a lead or copper problem is identified in the system. IDEM is requesting this update by March 31, 2016.
In order to update our sampling sites, The Nappanee Water Utility, will need to verify the type of water service entering your home. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we will need to access your property and home to complete this task. We ask for your cooperation as we try to complete our work in a timely fashion. City of Nappanee Water Utility employees will begin verification on Monday, March 7, 2016. All City employees will have appropriate identification badges.
If you have any questions, please contact Gale Gerber, Superintendent of Nappanee City Utilities, at 574-773-4623.
