Nappanee Girl Found Safe In ElkhartFourteen-year-old Kilah Barr McLaughlin, who was the subject of a Silver Alert issued Thursday, was found safe and apparently unharmed Friday in Elkhart, according to the Nappanee Police Department.
A Statewide Silver Alert had been declared as Nappanee police sought the whereabouts of McLaughlin, of Nappanee, who was last seen on Dec. 15.
In the Silver Alert, police said they believed she was in extreme danger.
Nappanee Police Chief Steve Rulli said the girl was safe and authorities were in the process of reuniting her with her family.
Police received a tip on her location and had been closing in shortly before she was found, Rulli said.
Rulli said Elkhart Police Department was directly involved.
Rulli did not provide an exact location.
No arrest had been made by late Friday afternoon, but investigators were still sorting out the circumstance, Rulli said.
