NAPPANEE – The Nappanee Redevelopment Commission has completed the sale of the Old Amoco property at 452 E. Market St., Nappanee, to Market Street Properties LLC. The Commission had been working on the purchase of the property for over 18 years. In 2015, the Commission closed on the property and issued a Request for Proposals. After a second round of proposals, the Commission voted to sell the property to Market Street Properties LLC, according to a press release from the City of Nappanee. Market Street Properties LLC plans to renovate the building for use by a local heating and cooling company. The renovations are already taking place and should be completed within one year. Jeff Kitson, executive director of the Commission, said, “With the sale of the Amoco property, the Commission has taken a proactive approach to the sale and has worked very hard with the new owner to make sure that both parties have a win-win experience. I know that the new owner will make the property more beautiful than it has ever been in the past.” Redevelopment Commission members are Brad Sechrist, Dale Davis, Jane Leavitt, Scot Honeycutt and Jenni Wysong. The Commission meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 a.m. at the Nappanee Center. For more information, contact the Redevelopment office at 574-773-7281 or email jkitson@nappanee.org
