Nappanee Announces hydrant Flushing

Posted
NAPPANEE – The Nappanee Water Utility will be flushing all city-owned fire hydrants Oct. 6 to Oct. 9.
Flushing will occur at night between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m for the safety of motorists and flushing crews as streets can temporarily flood during the process. A non-peak usage schedule will also allow the town to keep more water in the towers.
Residents may experience some discoloration in the water during morning hours. The water is safe to consume and shower with. Caution should be used when washing clothing during this time period.
Tentative Schedule:
• Monday – The northeast section of the city or an area bound by East Market and North Main streets to Berlin Court, including the Blackstone subdivision.
• Tuesday – The Northwood subdivision, Woodview Drive, McCormick Creek subdivision, Heritage Farms subdivision and Main Street, north of Berlin Court.
• Wednesday – All areas west of Main and North Market streets, including the West Industrial Park.
• Thursday – All areas south of Market Street.
