COLUMBIA CITY – Nancy S. Gingher, 77, Columbia City, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, where she was admitted on Oct. 26.
She was born April 10, 1941, in Sturgis, Mich., a daughter of the late Arthur R. and Frances A. Smith Lloyd. Her formative years were spent in Warsaw, where she was a member of the Warsaw High School class of 1959. She then attended Indiana University for two years.
She worked as an accountant her entire career and owned and operated Nancy Beltz Inc., a tax accounting service, for 40 years.
She enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished seamstress. In her senior years, she became an avid scrapbooker.
On March 30, 2002, she was united in marriage to Michael D. Gingher. They made their home in Thorncreek Township. Mr. Gingher died Dec. 3, 2010.
She was a member of New Hope Wesleyan Church, Ducks Unlimited, NRA, National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, Midwest Gun Traders and EAA, attending the national meet in Oshkosh, Wis., annually.
Surviving are her two children, Rick (Judy) Buell, Syracuse, and Jan (Jerry) McCormick, Churubusco; nine grandchildren: Sara (Joe) Armentrout, Elkhart; Amy (Christina) Bottema, Indianapolis; Amber (P.J.) Hayes, Mooresville; Daniel (Laura) Speakman, Fort Wayne; Andrew (Raquel) Buell, Elkhart; Kacy (Nate) McCormick, Churubusco; Holli (Brock) Westergaard, Clayton, N.C.; Lisa (Alan) Speakman, Fort Wayne; and Dylan McCormick, Angola; and a sister, Linda (Doug) Konkle, Wabash.
Additionally, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Speakman.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The visitation will be from noon until the service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in the Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
