Nancy Margaret Shaw Kealey, 86, Fort Wayne, formerly of Warsaw, died peacefully in her sleep at noon on Palm Sunday, March 20, 2016, at home. On Sept. 18, 1948, she married Frank William Kealey, now 87, who survives in Fort Wayne. She grew up in South Bend with nine sisters and two brothers (a third brother died at age 4). She met her future husband, Frank, in high school. After marriage, they moved to Warsaw in 1955 where they owned and operated Stuart Optical and raised their family. They remained in Warsaw until moving to Fort Wayne in November 2014. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Warsaw. She was also active in Warsaw High School Band Boosters, and helping others throughout her life. On Nov. 3, 1977, she was recognized for her community work by being honored as Warsaw Woman of the Year by the Greater Warsaw Area Chamber of Commerce. She was a wonderful human being who thought of others more than herself. She was a beautiful guiding light to her seven children, 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She brought joy and love to those who she encountered, and always believed in the goodness of people. Also surviving are her seven children, Gary (and spouse Tina) Kealey, 60, Santa Clarita, Calif.; Paul (and spouse Naomi) Kealey, 59, Danville, Calif.; Daniel (and spouse Kerri) Kealey, 58, Burnsville, Minn.; Bruce Kealey (and Shaun), 57, Rogers, Minn.; Coleen Kealey 55, Chicago, Ill.; Kris (and spouse Anita) Kealey, 53, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and Kathleen (and spouse Michael) Crick, 46, Fort Wayne; 23 grandchildren: Kyle Kealey, Nick Schaffner, Khrystal Kealey, Kandis (and spouse Brian) Hufford, Megan Kealey, Carl Luthy, Nicole Kealey, Benjamin Baker, Miranda Germann, Emma Baker, Miranda Kealey, Grace Luthy, Alex Crick, Evan Kealey, Jacob Baker, Rachel Kealey, Christopher Kealey, Anna Crick, Jordan Kealey, David Kealey, Joseph Kealey, Samantha Kealey and Olivia Kealey; and eight great-grandchildren: Dominic Kealey, Xavier Jones, Ariana Jones, Elise Hufford, Andrew Hufford, Madison Wright, Colton Hufford and Mason Hufford. She was preceded in death by six sisters, Elizabeth Detterich, Laura Jane Koustmer, Eleanor Bogue, Sally LuPiba, Phyllis Pearson and Helene Warner; and three brothers, George, James and Edwin Shaw. The Celebration of Life service for our beloved Nancy will be from 3 to 4 p.m. April 2 at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Warsaw. The post-service reception will include food and refreshments.
