MENTONE – Nancy Ellen Trump, 76, of rural Mentone, Ind., passed surrounded by her family at 10:42 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Ind., after an extended illness.
She was born on Dec. 25, 1942, in Warsaw, Ind., to James “Ted” Russell and Frances Martin Koch.
She was married on April 2, 1967, in the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Athens to Robert S. Trump; he survives.
She worked for Ristance of Mentone and also for Niff-Corr in the office, retiring in 2007, as well as being a homemaker and a mother.
She was a 1961 graduate of Talma High School. She furthered her education in 1993 by attaining her associates degree in accounting from Ivy Tech Community College of Warsaw. She was a member of the Master Gardener’s and the Homemakers Extension, both of Kosciusko County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mentone for over 40 years and served there as an Awana leader for many years. Nancy was an avid camper at Jellystone Campground and enjoyed quilting, gardening, NASCAR, I.U. basketball and raising butterflies. She volunteered her time helping with open class exhibits at the 4-H Fair and windowsill gardening with the third grade at Mentone Elementary. She also treasured the time she got to spend with her grandchildren.
Survivors include husband, Robert Trump, of Tippecanoe, Ind.; daughters, Lisa and husband Joe Secrist, of Mentone, Ind., and Amy and husband David Doles, of Brookston, Ind.; and grandchildren, Christopher, Hannah, Katelynn and Megan.
She was preceded in death by parents; and a brother, Gene Koch.
Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 at the funeral home, with Pastor Joe Olson officiating. Burial will be at Mentone Cemetery, Mentone.
