PIERCETON – Nancy Ellen Booth, 67, of Pierceton,  passed away unexpectedly March 15, 2013, in her residence.
She was born June 28, 1945, in Warsaw, to John Frederick and Mary Ellen Hawkins Mowrey.
A resident of Pierceton most of her life, in 1963 she  graduated from Pierceton High School before moving to Los Angeles for several years. Upon returning home, she began her career as a food service supervisor at area nursing homes including the former Prairie View Nursing Home, Warsaw, for many years and Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, for more than a decade, retiring  in 2011 She was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw. She will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her kind and gentle disposition with all around her and her fantastic cooking, which was the highlight of every family gathering.
She was a devoted and loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her surviving family which includes her mother, Mary Ellen Mowrey, Pierceton; a son, Dr. Scott (and spouse Lorrigan) Booth, Dover, Ohio; brothers: David (and spouse Betty) Mowrey, Virginia, Minn.; Dan (and spouse Irene) Mowrey, Lebanon, Ky.; Joe (and spouse Sally) Mowrey, Fremont; and James (and spouse Christy) Mowrey, Pierceton; a sister, Rose Mowrey, Phoenix, Ariz.; nieces and nephews: Robin, Brenda, Tim, Paul, Jon, Charity, Danielle, Sara and Seth; aunts, Marjorie Mowrey, Columbia City, and Jeannie Hawkins, Amboy; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a number of cousins.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, officiated by Pastor Bob Jarboe. Immediately following, a meal is planned for all in attendance of the service.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
