Nancy Ann McCartney, 67, Indianapolis, formerly of Warsaw, passed away at 9:23 a.m. Jan. 14, 2016, in the emergency room at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born May 13, 1948, in Lisbon, Ohio, to Herbert and Margaret Martin Allmon. On June 1, 1966, in Lisbon, Ohio, she married Ancil Loye McCartney, who died Dec. 15, 2014.
She is a 1966 graduate of Crestview High School, Columbiana, Ohio.
She was a house parent at Children’s Guardian Home, Indianapolis, for 24 years. She was an avid reader who enjoyed watching court shows and the Food Network and the Cooking Channel on TV. She loved her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, John McCartney, Indianapolis, and James (and spouse Roxie) McCartney, Franklin; a daughter, Theresa (and spouse Carl) Howard, Indianapolis; two sisters, Jane Swinehart, Warsaw, and Kathleen Marvel, Mishawaka; a brother, Wayne (and spouse Jocy) Allmon, Decatur; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Mae Allmon, and a brother, Daniel Allmon.
Graveside services wil be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Jack Worth, Dutchtown United Brethren Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery.
