Nader Seeks To Attract Write-In Votes In Indiana

Posted

With five days remaining until the general election Nov. 7, Green Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader kicked off a final effort Thursday to attract write-in votes in Indiana.

Unlike voters in the 44 states where Nader's name appears on the ballot, voters in Indiana will have to write in his name to make their voices heard. Nader denounced restrictive ballot-access laws in Indiana that make it exceedingly difficult for third-party candidates to win a ballot line.

Nader's campaign volunteers will go through Indiana in the next five days before the election to remind voters that Nader is actively seeking their votes.

The Green Party can qualify for federal campaign funds in 2004 if it receives 5 percent of the national vote tally.
