N. Manchester Council Approves 2022 Meeting Schedule

NORTH MANCHESTER - At Wednesday night's meeting, the North Manchester Town Council approved the 2022 meeting calendar and several general ordinances on various readings.

Approved on second reading were ordinances to vacate an alley on West Third Street and to increase salaries for town employees by 5%.

Approved on third reading was an ordinance which establishes a capital asset capitalization policy for the town.

The 2022 Council calendar was approved for regular meetings to be held on the first Wednesday of each month, with the exception of the April 13 meeting on the second Wednesday.

In other updates, the street department is nearly finished with leaf pickup. As part of the Community Crossings grant project, Gaunt and Sons is pouring concrete for new sidewalks on Colfax, High and Grant streets until the end of the month, weather permitting.

Town Manager Adam Penrod encouraged the Council members to attend an Imagine One 85 grant meeting with Grow Wabash County and the Community Foundation of Wabash County on Dec. 21.

Clerk-Treasurer Carrie Mugford reported a town docket of $441,038.84 and a utilities docket of $206,846.91.

The Council will next meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 6.
