GREENVILLE, S.C. – Mykayla Newman, Nappanee, is a member of the chorale, a 53-voice choir comprised of undergraduate and graduate Bob Jones University students from a variety of degree programs. Newman is a senior majoring in early childhood education.
"The BJU chorale is widely known for its tonal beauty and dramatic expressivity," said Dr. Warren Cook, who has served as director for over 30 years. "Each year, we strive to continue a long tradition of delighting audiences with excellence in choral art."
The chorale debuted composer Dan Forrest's "Jubilate Deo" in Orchestra Hall in Chicago in 2017. In addition, the chorale has served as the U.S. representative at the World Choral Festival in Seoul, Korea, and has been a featured performing choir at American Choral Directors Association and National Association for Music Education events.
The chorale tours regularly and maintains a full-performing schedule of concerts, oratorio and theater productions, as well as providing music for campus services and events.
