The Bible says you will know a Christian by their love, and in Corinthians Chapter 13, the Bible tells us what true love is.
I've been going to New Life Christian Church for 16 years, and as I was trying to fall asleep one evening, I could not, because I was thinking on all the untruths being told about our church.
It hurts me when people attack my pastor and my church without them knowing. My pastor preaches the word of God. He is always making available to us things to help us grow in Christ so we don't have to struggle, and we can line an abundant life as God intended and he overcomes. My pastor does not take our paychecks, he teaches tithing and giving as the word says, but he forces us to do nothing.
I know this because I have a relationship with my pastor. People go far away to get the teachings we get, and we are blessed to have our pastor want us to have a good fruitful life and grow in the knowledge of Christ.
On Easter, we are asked to pray and give 90 percent to a need like Mercy Ministries who helps teens who are pregnant and gives them hope. Our pastor is not poor. We are above all things God wants us to prosper as our soul prospers, John 3:2.
Did my pastor always have a nice house, a large beautiful church? Now, was his life always great? No. If you have questions, ask, he always answers mine. We will always have the poor among us. But we are not to shut our ears to their cries.
Our church feeds the poor and ministers to our community, not just our church. And furthermore, we do not pay someone to clean our church, teach our kids and care for our babies. We do it just as we built our church and did construction.
Do we support our pastor? Yes, we do. He does not work another job, we don't want him to.
He evangelizes and ministers here and all over. Our church has precious caring people who serve God and want to and God blesses that he knows our hearts. He who is faithful with little will receive much. It is possible to hold on too tightly and lose everything. It is a process, it does not happen overnight.
I know I've lived it, I'm living it now. I am not poor, I am still learning and growing. I will not always be where I am now. My pastor and my church are not perfect. We are sinners saved by grace. But our church's fruit shows we're gonna make it. Love covers a multitude of offenses, so if you are misled, now you know and we love you anyway.
No one knows I'm writing this, and, no, my pastor didn't pay me to write it. God knows everyone's heart and motivations and his opinion is what really matters.
