MutualBank Pacesetting For United Way

Posted
MutualBank Pacesetting For United WayArmed with some unique ways to raise money, MutualBank is one of several United Way Pacesetters this year.

MutualBank employees have enjoyed being pacesetters, according to one of the bank's key leaders, Lori Richcreek.

Richcreek, along with Josh Birky, are helping lead MutualBank to its company goal of $7,500.

The bank also has set an employee participation rate at 80 percent.

MutualBank has 450 employees at 33 branches.

To add more motivation, if the company hits its goal, the plan is to force the bank's senior vice president, Max Courtney, to wear a ridiculous outfit or be the company's servant for the day.

Friday afternoon, a dunk tank sat outside MutualBank's Center Street location in Warsaw.

Employees took turns sitting in the dunk tank while customers, friends, family and other employees took turns trying to dunk them.

One employee, Josh Crim, joked that he made the mistake of posting he'd be in the dunk tank on Facebook.

His wife, Renee Crim, bought $5 worth of baseballs and was able to dunk her husband a couple of times.

Earlier in the week, MutualBank held an employee meeting where the United Way video was played to give employees a better idea of what United Way does.

Afterward, the employees took that information and used it to play a version of the "Newlywed Game".

MutualBank is also offering its customers a chance to give by selling paper t-shirts that get posted throughout the bank's locations.

Employees also can donate additional money to get into a raffle where the prizes include $50 and a paid day off.

Also for one week, employees can wear jeans for $5 a day.

MutualBank is one of several companies who are setting the pace for United Way who is raising for funds for all of its services.

The Times-Union will periodically run stories on what other United Way Pacesetter companies are doing to raise money.
