PIERCETON - A Munster woman was severely injured Sunday when her car left U.S. 30 and went airborne over a creek before crashing into an embankment.
Frances M. Lasota, 53, suffered multiple bone fractures after being ejected from her car. The accident occurred at 12:18 p.m. Sunday west of CR 650E, near Pierceton.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department report, Lasota's car was westbound on U.S. 30 when it entered the median and traveled down the embankment to the creek. The vehicle then went airborne and impacted on the earth embankment on the other side of the creek.
Lasota was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital and later airlifted to Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, where she was listed in serious condition this morning.
