Multi-County Drug Bust Nets Two In Kosciusko

BREMEN - Twenty-two of 40 people wanted on drug charges were arrested this morning in a multi-county drug sweep.

According to Bremen Police Department Chief Michael F. Mollenhauer, the individuals being sought face a total of 49 felony and 15 misdemeanor charges. The charges include dealing in cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and heroin. About 100 officers from four sheriff's departments and eight police departments took part in the morning raid. Counties involved are Kosciusko, Marshall, Elkhart and Starke.

In Kosciusko County, two of four warrants were served, with two other people still wanted by police. Warrants were served here on Carl Kuhns, 22, of 5282 W. CR 900N, Milford, and Jason Clark, 24, of 429 W. Center St., Warsaw. Both are charged with dealing cocaine and conspiracy to deal cocaine. They were housed in the Kosciusko County Jail until Marshall County officials arrived to take them into custody shortly after their arrests.

Other local arrests include: Keith Koontz, 28, MD Acres #20, Nappanee, charged with dealing in and possession of a controlled substance, dealing cocaine and conspiracy to deal cocaine; Marvin L. Bachman, 47, of 509 Northside, Nappanee, charged with dealing prescription pills and dealing methamphetamine; William Hall, 44, of 203 Northside, Nappanee, charged with possession of marijuana; and Seth M. Teska, no age available, Nappanee, charged with dealing LSD.

The investigations from the various counties ranged from six months to 1-1/2 years before today's culmination.
