NAPPANEE - Mr. Crabapple is back, and this year he is sponsoring the second annual 2007 Nappanee Apple Festival "Mr. Crabapple Contest."
Jon Stepp, of Phil Hahn & Associates Realtors & Auctioneers, wants another spirited man to join his ranks.
The only qualifying criteria for this contest are you got to be a guy and you must live in the WaNee School District. "Mr. Crabapple" will win based on bucks placed into his "votes" canister during the four-day Nappanee Apple Festival in mid-September. The 2007 "Mr. Crabapple" will be named at the festival's end, and he will earn $100 cash and a trophy. Second place is $75 plus trophy; third place nets $50 cash and trophy. Contest viewing and voting will take place at the Depot Plaza.
The application and entry fee of $2 is due by Sept. 7. The contest is open to the first 28 contestants. Forms also can be downloaded from www.nappaneeapplefestival.org, or picked up at the Chamber of Commerce office, 305 W. Market St., Nappanee.
