MPL Offers 'Food For Fines'

Posted
MILFORD - This is the last week for "Food for Fines" month at the Milford Public Library.

For each $1 in fines a patron has, they may bring in a food item to be donated to the local food pantry. The fine will then be taken off their account.

This week's dial-a-story at the Milford Public Library will change Wednesday to "The Little Hero." Call 574-658-9540 to hear the story.

The Purdue Extension of Kosciusko County will present the program "Low-Fat Desserts" April 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the library meeting room. There will be samples and recipes available. Sign-up at the adult desk.

Are you looking for a special gift for that special teacher for National Teacher Day on May 8? Why not adopt-a-book at the Milford Public Library in his/her honor? The library will send a postcard to the teacher with the book title and how to find it in the library. Until the end of April, all adopt-a-books are half off. That means you can adopt a book for just $5. Come to the Children's Department to see the selection and find out more details.

The 100th birthday of the Milford Public Library is just around the corner. A committee has been formed to plan events for the library's 100th birthday. The next meeting will be May 1 at 5 p.m. in the library meeting room. If patrons would like to join the committee and help plan for our celebration, come to this meeting.

There will be a meeting May 3 at 5 p.m. in the library meeting room to set plans for the library's long-term goals. Anyone interested is asked to attend this meeting.

Scrapbooking club with Mim will meet May 7 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the library meeting room. Bring scrapbooking supplies and pictures and come have some fun at the library.

The Milford Public Library will close at 4 p.m. May 8 for a staff in-service. The library will open May 9 at 10 a.m.
