The Milford Public Library's Summer Reading Clubs theme this year will be "Book A Trip Through Time." The library will begin June 4 and continue through July 31. There will be special events on Wednesdays in June and July. See the library Web site www.milford.lib.in.us for more details.
The library's first special event for Summer Reading Clubs will be Food and Fun Day. It will be June 11 at 10:30 a.m., or 12:30 p.m., or 2:30 p.m. You must sign up and there is a limit of 15 participants per session. The theme for the Food and Fun day will be Western. So giddy up to the library on June 4 for the first day of sign-up.
Teen events (students who have finished fifth grade through 12th grade) will be Thursday afternoons at 2 p.m. The first teen event is on June 12. The event will be upstairs in the teen area, which will be decorated as a 1950s diner. Everyone will make their own banana split. There also will be a hula hoop contest and few other surprises. Anyone with a Wawasee ID can join the teen club - you do not have to be from Milford to participate. Come travel back to the 1950s - be there or be square.
The Knitting Club will meet June 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the library meeting room. There will be a demonstration about making items by felting. See the adult desk for a material list.
