Moving Pictures, Courthouse Coffee Join Together For $1,000 Tattoo Giveaway PromotionTattoos can vary in price depending on a number of factors, but two downtown Warsaw businesses are joining together for a promotion in June that will result in someone winning a tattoo valued at $1,000.
Nathan Underneath, owner of Moving Pictures Tattoo Cinema, 112 E. Center St., Warsaw, said he and Courthouse Coffee on the Square, 108 N. Buffalo St., Warsaw, owner Travis McConnell are doing a “cross-marketing promotion” with the raffle.
“Travis is really active with the One Warsaw group and we’ve always sponsored him. So now that he’s taken over the coffee shop, we wanted to do something to show our support of Pride month, so we’re doing a $1,000 tattoo giveaway,” Underneath said. “Each person on my team has picked a drink and those are the Pride month specials. So any time somebody buys a drink from the specialty board throughout the month of June, they will be given a raffle ticket and entered into a drawing for a giveaway.”
The promotion will run through June 30, with the drawing and announcement of the winner taking place at the beginning of July.
Underneath said that since he will be doing the tattoo for the winner, it will be about a five-hour session, or about 4 to 6 inches in size. He’s been doing tattoos for 10 years and his shop has been open in downtown Warsaw for three years.
“When I started it, I had made the commitment to be a part of building the community and enriching the people that are around me, so by doing these giveaways we’re trying to partner with other local businesses and support different groups within the community,” he stated.
With Moving Pictures having seven employees, there are seven drinks to pick from in June. The Trixie Mattel latte is strawberry and French vanilla with coconut milk. The Sugar+Spice latte is brown sugar cinnamon, white chocolate and a cinnamon sprinkled top. The “You Better Work” Smoothie is a raspberry and strawberry mix with Sprite. The No "T" No Shade No Pink Lemonade is blended strawberry lemonade with coconut milk and strawberry pearls. The Bi Berry latte is vanilla chai, strawberry, black raspberry and blueberry. Bob the Drag Queen is caramel macchiato with whip and drizzle. Finally, the Taste of the Rainbow is Sprite with different flavors that coordinate with different colors, including strawberry, peach, lemon, green apple, lavender and blueberry.
McConnell said Moving Pictures took over Courthouse Coffee’s specialty board for the month of June and he liked the idea of doing a community thing so they might try working with other businesses to do similar events.
“We’re all about supporting the community, so if there’s another business downtown that ... wanted to take over the board ... we need to collaborate more than compete,” he said. “We try to support our community. We’re happy to support.”
