CLAYPOOL - A Warsaw man is in critical condition with head and lower extremity injuries after a motorcycle accident Sunday.

Brett Allan Estep, 21, of South Country Club Road, was discovered about 7 a.m. in a field east of the intersection of CR 600S and Ind. 15. Police believe Estep was eastbound on CR 600S and disregarded the stop sign before leaving the roadway. Estep was thrown from the motorcycle.

The exact time of the accident is unknown. A passerby saw the motorcycle in the field and it apparently had been there long enough to develop a layer of frost on it.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident. Estep reportedly had a blood-alcohol level of .21 percent.

Estep was airlifted from the scene to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Assisting at the scene were personnel from Indiana State Police, Claypool Fire Department and Multi-Township Emergency Medical Service.

The accident remains under investigation.
