Motorcyclists will have the opportunity to help raise funds for Young Tigers Football.

The second annual Warsaw Young Tigers Mayor's Motorcycle Ride will be July 12.

The ride is in honor of Lance Cpl. David Fribley, who was the first Hoosier Marine to be killed while serving in Iraq.

Lake City Honda/ Kawasaki, Warsaw, is sponsoring this year's ride. George Tubbs, manager of Lake City Honda/Kawasaki, said the business is honored to sponsor the ride.

"It is a nice opportunity to sponsor the ride, and I hope the riders will remember the men and women who fought for this country while participating in the motorcycle ride," Tubbs said.

Bob Morrison, North Webster American Legion Post 253 member, is this year's ride chairman.

"Young Tigers Football is important to the quality of football in this area, and I hope people take pride in our country by participating in the ride," Morrison said.

Registration will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m at Lake City Honda/Kawasaki, 3426 E. U.S. 30, Warsaw. Cost is $5 per rider and $5 per passenger. Lakeland BBQ will be on site during registration.

There will be ride t-shirts for the first 300 riders, available for a minimum donation of $10 per shirt.

The shirts will be black with orange writing and read "Ride, Reflect, Remember Lance Cpl. David Fribley."

This year's ride will be a faster and shorter distance, according to Morrison.

Last year, there were 286 motorcycles and 70 passengers that rode 80 miles throughout the county. This year, the ride will be 32 miles and start at Lake City Honda/Kawasaki at 2:05 p.m.

Motorcyclists will ride through Warsaw, Pierceton, Larwill, Columbia City and Coessie. The ride will include a stop at the Veterans Memorial on Oday Road past Columbia City. A brick will be laid in Fribley's name at the Purple Heart section of the Veterans Memorial. North Webster American Legion Post 253 will perform a ceremony with taps and a 21-gun salute.

Legion Riders, Patriot Guard, ABATE, HOG, Gold Wing Riders Club and Rolling Thunder will participate in the ride.

The Marines will have a Humvee in the ride, and the Warsaw Fire Department will have a ladder truck.

New this year will be a vehicle for Goldstar Mothers to ride in. Goldstar Mothers are mothers who lost a son or daughter in the war.

After the ride, the public is welcome at the North Webster American Legion Post 253, Ind. 13S.
