Yesterday afternoon Lisa Niles, Syracuse, decided that she would walk from Syracuse to the Kosciusko County Jail in support of her son, Brad Lee Niles Jr., who is in jail for methamphetamine charges.
Her son recently wrote a letter to the Times-Union asking for help with his addiction. She said that she heard his cry for help and this is what she can do to raise awareness for those with a meth addiction.
She left Syracuse at 3 p.m. and planned on ariving at the jail at around 8 p.m., just a half hour before visitation time is over.
Niles said she woke up Tuesday morning and her son's situation "weighed heavy on (her) heart" and that was what motivated her to walk for him. She said she may not have the money to bail him out of jail, but she "will walk to the ends of the earth for (her) son."
