A woman facing jail time if she doesn’t comply with a court order to let an incarcerated man see their daughter claims he wants a bribe.

Jennifer Logan filed a motion in court asking a judge to dimiss her case due to a letter she received from?Sammy Davis, the father of their daughter.

Davis is serving a prison sentience for driving drunk and killing his then-girlfriend Victoria Anderson in 2010 about two months after his daughter was born.

Logan has a hearing on Oct. 11 in Kosciusko?Superior Court I where Special Judge Torrey Bauer has ordered her to show proof that she is complying with court orders to allow her daughter to contact Davis, including speaking with her on the phone and reading letters. If Logan can not show she is complying, she will be sent to the Kosciusko?County Jail

Logan, in her motion, claims Davis is trying to bribe her.

In his letter to Logan, Davis asks for $250 for a TV, adapters and headphones.

“I’m not going to allow the courts to put the mother of our child behind bars, therefore help  me, have my back and I got your back,” Davis wrote.

Davis then goes on in the letter to ask for a joint parenting agreement once he’s out of prison.

He tells Logan that the girl will not have to worry about anything, and he has money stored up and he will buy the girl anything she wants.

Logan has already been jailed three times for contempt of court in connection  with the case.

Logan was placed in the Kosciusko County Jail on Jan. 6, 2016, and released Jan. 13 2016; on Aug. 5 2016, till Aug. 14, 2016; and the third time was a 14-day sentence that began Jan. 30.

In other court documents, Davis criticizes Logan for going public with her story.

In addition to suing Logan for parental time, Davis has filed other lawsuits during his time in prison. He filed a small claims suit  against Whitley Superior Court Judge Douglas Fahl and Kosciusko County Deputy Prosecutor Katy Hampton. That case is still pending.

Earlier this year, a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit Davis filed against Warsaw Community Schools.

According to the Indiana Department of Corrections, Davis is scheduled to be released Nov. 21, 2018.
