More information has been released about a Warsaw man who was arrested after FBI agents raided his house last week.

Jason C. Slavey, 36, of Zimmer Road, Warsaw, faces charges of distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

According to documents filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, Slavey "knowingly distributed any visual depiction using any means or facility of interstate or foreign commerce, and the production of such depiction involved the use of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct and such depiction was of such conduct."

The document states, that Slavey "... did knowingly possess or knowingly access with intent to view, one or more books, magazines, periodicals, films, videos, tapes, or other matter which contained visual depictions which were shipped or transported using any means or facility of interstate or foreign commerce, or in or affecting the interstate or foreign commerce or which was produced using materials which have been mailed or shipped or transported by any means including by computer, the production of which involved the use of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and which visual depictions were of such conduct."

In April, a special agent from the Buffalo Division of the FBI using peer-to-peer software allegedly connected with a user name and IP address later traced to Slavey.

While connected with the account, the federal agent reportedly browsed and downloaded images that contained child pornography.

After reviewing the information from the agent, the Indianapolis Division of the FBI began its own investigation into the child pornography activities linked to the user name and IP address allegedly used by Slavey.

Upon further investigation, agents learned that Slavey pleaded guilty to one count of child molestation, a Class C felony, in Noble County. He was given a four-year sentence for the offense in 1993.

After more investigation, the court issued a warrant for agents to search Slavey's residence at 810 N. Zimmer Road, Warsaw, for more evidence of crimes involving child porn.

On Aug. 18, FBI agents and officers from the Warsaw Police Department went to the residence to execute the search warrant.

Slavery reportedly was home at the time of the search and cooperated with the officers.

Two hard drives with "numerous images of minors involved in sexually explicit conduct, or child pornography" reportedly were found in a safe at the home. Another hard drive inside a computer allegedly contained pornographic materials involving children as well.Slavey reportedly agreed to be interviewed and allegedly admitted to possessing the child pornography and distributing it on the Internet.

Slavey is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on federal charges of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.
