With only about six days left for candidates to file for the May primary, a number of candidates for township boards and trustee positions have filed since Friday.
Two exceptions are Teena Pence, Warsaw, Republican, who has filed for county recorder; and Robert C. Cockburn, Milford, Republican, who filed for re-election to the Milford Town Council.
Other new filings over the last five to six days as of 2 p.m. Wednesday include:
- Larry Kammerer, Leesburg, Republican, Plain Township Board, incumbent.
- James M. “Jim” Rhodes, North Webster, Republican, Tippecanoe Township Board, incumbent.
- Steve Sponseller, Warsaw, Republican, Harrison Township Board, incumbent.
- John E. Hart, Mentone, Harrison Township Board, incumbent.
- Gwendolyn L. Ostrom, Claypool, Republican, Jackson Township trustee, incumbent.
- Debbie L. Wilcoxson, Pierceton, Republican, Jackson Township Board, incumbent.
- Melanie Vanlaningham, Mentone, Republican, Franklin Township trustee.
- Robert L. Beer, Milford, Republican, Van Buren Township Board, incumbent.
- John B. Camden II, Pierceton, Washington Township Board.
- Lance Grubbs, Warsaw, Republican, Wayne Township Board.
- Matt Smith, Akron, Republican, Seward Township Board, incumbent.
- Bruce Lankenau, Claypool, Republican, incumbent.
- Donald L. Ellison, Pierceton, Republican, Monroe Township Board, incumbent.
- Robert L. Riley, Nappanee, Republican, Jefferson Township Board, incumbent.
The final list for all candidates for the May primary will be printed Saturday, Feb. 5.
Candidate filing began Jan. 5 and runs until noon Feb. 4.
