More Candidates File For City Seats

Posted

Four more candidates for Warsaw City Council have been added to the roster since the beginning of the month, bringing the total to 14.

The filing deadline was noon Friday.

Incumbent Bill Rhoades now has four challengers for his District 5 seat: Carl Lee Sowers, Steven Brown, Bruce Woodward and Alan Clingan.

Jerry Patterson, the current District 4 councilman, is being challenged by Tammy Rockey.

Four candidates are available for the two at-large positions, including current officeholders Joe Thallemer and Trish Brown and contenders Dewey Lawshe and Bob Morrison.

In Winona Lake, the only challenger is Jim LeMasters who seeks the District 3 city council office held by Rolly Ortega.

In Syracuse, Brian Woody will face incumbent Barbara Carwile for the District 4 town council seat and Brian Antonides faces incumbent Bill Hane in District 5. Carol Kolbe is unchallenged in District 3.

Because all of those seeking office are running on the Republican ticket, officeholders will be decided in the May 6 primary election. Current terms end Dec. 31.
