Today I find two Times-Union articles, interesting commentaries about where we are in America in 2010. In the 75 years ago section, I found this:
75 Years Ago:The Primary and Junior Departments of the U.B. Church of Atwood held their annual picnic recently at the city park in Warsaw. The youngsters were chaperoned by the Rev. and Mrs. Nicodemus, and their primary superintendent, Mrs. L. Rovenstine, and one of their teachers, Mrs. Catherine Irwin. There were about 75 present, and about 50 of that number were children. After the dinner, the afternoon was spent swimming.
And Today:
'Sting' At Wawasee Sandbar Nets 27 Arrests
SYRACUSE - Indiana conservation officers, assisted by a Kosciusko County lake patrol officer, issued 27 citations to minors consuming or possessing alcoholic beverages in a sting operation Saturday afternoon.
All I see here is a huge slide ... from the "youngsters" being chaperoned to the "minors" being cut loose to do whatever. From Bible-believing folks bringing up young people, to "minors" having lost any knowledge of God. What will the news be like in 2085, 75 years from now?
