Monty G. Lackey, 73, Warsaw, passed away at 12:10 a.m. June 19, 2016, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. He was born April 13, 1943, in Rochester, to Robert and Mary Lou Fisher Lackey. He served with the United States Army. He was a Warsaw area resident for most of his life. He was a self-employed landscape contractor. Surviving are his mother, Mary Lou (and companion Sammie Vickers) Laurino, Warsaw; a stepmother, Norma Lackey, Silver Lake; two daughters, Heather (and spouse Liberty) Reichert, Bourbon, and Kisten (and spouse Larry) Born, Colorado Springs, Colo.; four brothers: Michael (and spouse Lynn) Lackey, Warsaw; Dewey (and spouse Dee) Lackey, Florida; Dan (and spouse Dan) Lackey, Claypool; Nick (and spouse Nancy) Laurino, Indianapolis; six sisters: Charlene (and spouse Brad) Witham, Mentone; Kathy Cutler, Renee (and spouse Charlie) Gibson, Toni (and spouse Kevin) Wilson, Peggy (and spouse Earl) Marsilett, all of Warsaw; Jane Lackey, Akron; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lackey. Services will be at a later date. Graveside military honors will be conducted in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
