Editor, Times-Union: One of the columns in Thursday’s paper really bothered me. You may know which one I am talking about. It was the one about the Kokomo man facing child molesting charges.
Now correct me if I’m wrong, but the way I understood it was that this woman left her children with this man back in June and the children claim he had “performed sexual acts on them.” So they issued the warrant for him. Then as you read down a little bit, it says that earlier this month (August) she left the children with the same man and the acts were said to be done again.
This is what bothered me and like I said, correct me if I’m wrong. If you left your children with a man who molested your children once (two months prior to the second accusation), why in the world would you leave them with the same man again? Does that really make any sense? No, absolutely not! To me that is just pretty much saying that you didn’t care that it happened in the first place. If you really cared about your kids you wouldn’t leave them with a man that had molested them once before and then turn around and leave them with the same man for a second time. In my opinion, it doesn’t sound like she cared that much in the beginning or she wouldn’t have let it happen for a second time.
