Firefighters were unable to save a burning mobile home Saturday night at Regency Estates, U.S. 30E, Pierceton. The home, owned by Ubaldo Reyna, was destroyed in the 10:43 p.m. fire at Lot 86. Pierceton Fire Department Chief Gordon Baker said the structure was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The fire was under control in about 15 minutes, Baker said. Squad 70, the county's fire investigation team, assisted in determining the cause of the blaze - an electrical short in a bedroom. Baker said fire officials were initially told that occupants were trapped inside the mobile home, but that proved to be false. No injuries were reported. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
