Missing Pregnant Dog Returned To Owner

A pregnant 5-year-old dog that went missing last week has been found.
The dog, Halfpint, a Peekapoo, went missing Thursday from the Aldi parking lot in Warsaw after the dog’s owner, Jackie Hamilton, and her sisters-in-law, Tina Flores and Estalena Hamilton, were shopping at Aldi. When they returned to their vehicle from the store, the dog was gone.
Hamilton said she and her family members spent Thursday night, Friday and Saturday searching for Halfpint. They also reported the dog missing to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County.
Flores said she received 10 phone calls Saturday morning from people who read in the Times-Union that the dog has been missing and that they saw it in the Aldi parking lot Saturday morning.
Flores and Hamilton went out to Aldi Saturday morning to look for the dog.
“I got a big fish net because I thought I could catch her, but she ran to the trailer park near Service Liquors,” Flores said. “She must have smelled Jackie and my niece’s dog Hunter because she came out of the woods and started licking Hunter’s mouth.”
Hamilton said Halfpint was so happy to be reunited with the family.
Hamilton thanked the people who called Flores about the missing dog.
“I want to say to them, I thank them so much and I’m so happy she is back home where she belongs,” Hamilton said.
Hamilton said the first thing she did when she got home was feed Halfpint some dog food.
“She loved it and ate it so fast you would have thought she had been starving for days, which she was,” Hamilton said.
