Detectives with the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department confirmed this morning that there is an open investigation concerning the father of two missing Warsaw boys.
Bhrett Weese, 6, and his brother, Breydan Weese, 4, have not been seen since Sept. 3 and are believed to be with their non-custodial mother April Haywood. While Haywood has an active warrant for interference with custody that carries a $10,000 bond, the boys' father, Ryan Weese, is the person of interest in an investigation that has been ongoing since June.
Detectives declined to specify what the investigation is concerning.
The custody hearings, which took place in Superior Court I with Judge Duane Huffer officiating, ended with custody being granted to Ryan Weese.
The ongoing investigation of Weese has been delayed, said detectives with KCSD, by the fact Weese hasn't talked to police concerning the investigation per his attorney, Dana Leon.
Leon was contacted this morning but declined to comment on any communications she's had with Weese.
Attempts to reach Ryan Weese for comment this morning were unsuccessful.
The Weese boys are listed on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Anyone with information regarding the two children should either call the national hotline at 800-THE-LOST or the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department at 574-267-5667.
