Miss Mentone And Court 2003

Rachel McDaniel (C) was named Miss Mentone prior to the Mentone Egg Festival's talent show Saturday. Pictured with her are second runner up Elizabeth Meade (L) and Megan Schuster. The girls, all Tippecanoe Valley High School students, held fund raisers and received 'penny votes' for the the title. Proceeds from the contest are distributed by the Mentone Chamber of Commerce to a chosen organization. This year, money will go to the Bell Memorial Public Library, the senior center and the daycare housed in the refurbished Frank Manufacturing building. McDaniel received a $500 scholarship; Schuster a $250 scholarship and Meade a $100 scholarship. Photo by Teresa Smith, Times-Union
