Mischief Charge Filed Against Group Home Client

Posted

A client of a Bowen Center group home was arrested and charged with criminal mischief Tuesday after allegedly shooting a fire extinguisher at employees of the home.

Matthew Robert Manuel, 19, of 3104 Wooster Road #6, Pierceton, is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on $250 bond.

Warsaw police were called to the home on North Harrison Street because employees were reportedly having a hard time getting Manuel to do what he was told.

He was apparently upset because he was told he couldn't be in an area of the home that he was in. When an employee tried to get him to leave, Manuel allegedly grabbed a fire extinguisher off a wall. He discharged the fire extinguisher when an attempt was made to take it away from him. He also reportedly broke a picture frame inside and a concrete ashtray outside before police arrived.
