SYRACUSE — Miriam E. “Pat” Benson, 85, Syracuse, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Feb. 7, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse. She was born March 2, 1931, in Milford, to James R. and Pauline O. Ringler Losee. She was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and attended Syracuse High School. She was married Jan. 24, 1948, in Syracuse, to Warren G. Benson, who preceded her on Dec. 24, 2013. She was a former co-owner/operator of Syracuse Dry Cleaners for 28 years and worked at Johnson Controls in Goshen for several years. She was a member of the Church of God, North Webster, and formerly attended Syracuse Church of God and Syracuse Church of the Brethren. She is survived by a daughter, Gail Benson-Sauers, Goshen; a son, Jim (spouse Pam) Benson, Syracuse; six grandchildren: Amanda Benson, Brianne Sauers, Kim Davis, Leslie Vanover, Angela Frost and David Killian; several great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Rosemary “Peg” (spouse Jerry) Method, Janice “Jan” (spouse George) Bowler and Sharon Kaufman, all of Milford; and a brother, John Losee, Darlington, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; a daughter, Janet Patrick; a son, Carl Benson; great-great-grandsons, Henry Davis and Thomas Archer; and a brother, Richard Losee. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse.
