Only minor injuries were reported by one of the drivers in the two-semi collision accident on U.S. 30 at Meijer Drive early Saturday morning.
According to information provided by the Warsaw Police Department, at about 1 a.m. Saturday, emergency personnel responded to a collision involving two semi-tractor-trailers in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30 at Meijer Drive.
Investigating officers determined that a 2024 International, driven by Artur Wojcik, 37, of Elgin, Ill., was stopped, facing east at a red traffic light on U.S. 30 at Meijer Drive. Wojcik’s trailer was rear-ended by a 2020 Freightliner driven by Niman Mohamed, 35, of Willmar, Minn.
Mohamed was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries. Wojcik was evaluated at the scene by Lutheran EMS and released.
Responding agencies included WPD, Winona Lake Police Department, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Lutheran EMS.
