Several railroad crossings in downtown Warsaw were closed this morning after a minor train derailment. The east-west railroad crossings at Scott Street, South Maple Avenue and Bronson Street are closed, according to a news release from Warsaw City Hall. A westbound train of flatbed cars was carrying railroad iron when three of the cars jumped the track near Winona Avenue where the north/south tracks intersect the east/west tracks. All cars remained upright. There were no injuries, and there is no danger to residents or businesses, city officials said. The Bronson crossing was opened about 10 a.m. and the other crossings were expected to be closed through at least 4 p.m. today. Photo by Dan Spalding.
