CLAYPOOL – In a short meeting of the Claypool Town Council, there were four main items of business. The council named Niki Miller to continue in her role as president. Claypool will buy a new probe to be used at the wastewater treatment lab. The equipment will be used to test the pH of town water and will cost $2,608. Town Marshal Dallas Owens presented a comprehensive list of all police responses for 2016. Clerk-Treasurer Patricia Warner noted changes in some of the costs at Graceland Cemetery. A regular grave opening will be $350. Cremation is $225. Baby grave openings are $275 and disinterment is $450. An additional fee of $100 will be charged if a funeral occurs on a Saturday or if the funeral arrives after 3 p.m. on any day of the week including Saturday. The next regular meeting of the town council will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 20.
