INDIANAPOLIS – Wawasee’s Paige Miller finished fourth in the 500 freestyle and 12th in the 200 free at the IHSAA girls swimming state finals Saturday. Warsaw’s Brenna Morgan was fifth in the 50 free and ninth in the 100. “There was good and bad at this meet,” said Warsaw head swim coach Anthony DeBrota. “I think the team was a little taken back by the pressure of state, but they are all very excited to get to work for the offseason and next season. “We were hoping to get the medley relay faster, as well as get the 200 free relay record, but neither happened. Everyone will be back next year, though, so that’s great.” The Lady Tigers finished tied for 18th in the team standings with 23 points, with Wawasee coming in 21st with 20 points. Carmel set a national record with its 30th-consecutive state championship.
