Miller, Morgan Advance To Finals

INDIANAPOLIS – Warsaw’s Brenna Morgan and Wawasee’s Paige Miller advanced to the finals in the IHSAA girls swimming state championship preliminaries Friday at the IUPUI Natatorium. Each also narrowly missed advancing to Saturday’s finals in a second event.
Morgan, a junior, will be the sixth seed in the 50 freestyle final and just missed advancing to the final in the 100 free by seven hundredths of a second. She’ll be the top seed in the consolation round in the 100.
Miller, also a junior, finished third in the 500 freestyle qualifying. She narrowly missed qualifying in the 200 free, falling .09 short and finishing ninth. Miller will be the top seed in the 200 consolation race this afternoon.
Warsaw’s 200 medley relay team finished 24th in the prelims. Freshman Delaney Wihebrink was 26th in the 100 backstroke and 31st in the 200 IM. Sophomore Laurel Moeller was 32nd in the 200 free.
The swimming finals are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. today in Indy.
