Cindy Hepler (L) presents Alek Jansen (C) and Connor Singrey (R) with a check for $1,000 from the Dr. Dane and Mary Louise Miller Foundation to support the Boomerang Backpack pilot program.
This program was developed to provide young students with accessible, healthy snacks throughout the weekend. The pilot program will begin at Lincoln Elementary School and eventually support all the schools in the Warsaw School District.
Questions about the program can be directed to Tracey Akers, program director, at Edgewood Middle School.
Jansen and Singrey are members of the Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy.
